But will I need to change anything for the /6 switch from the 66 to the 65? What about the 360 as a race motor? What type of racing would be good to start at? I was thinking about the 1/4 mile to start, and what are the regs for that? If you put the 65 fenders on the 66, you will have to use the 65 grill and head lights too. The interior will fit in either one, but the patterns are different per year. Sounds like you should think about restoring the 65 and make the 66 the race car. Put the /6 and tranny in the 65. Buy some fiberglass fenders for the 66 and all new suspension that can handle the 360. You will need a tranny for that. The /6 tranny will not work on the small block. One other plus for the 66 race car it the shifter. You can use any 66 to 76? tranny and not worry about special linkage to the shifter.
