I just had Kepich make a dual exhaust system for my 64 Belvedere 4 door.
They did a great job. It is all factory including mufflers. Just a hint of
power, nothing real loud. I also will be building a 318 Poly, already have
cam, and P-600 with 3 Stromberg 97's.
You should try to find an oil filter adapter so the filter is 90 degrees to
it's present location. Otherwise, the pipe on that side will have to be
tweaked to clear. I am using a shorter oil filter, a Purolator L20081. This
filter is about 1 1/2" shorter and works quite well. With the shorter
filter, the pipe will fit and tweaking of that pipe will be un necessary.
The filter adapter is available from Year One, but is expensive. They show
up on eBay from time to time.

I also went with stock diameter pipes. They should work quite well on my
mild engine.

I checked with Kepich and it's 250 for aluminized duals and 750 for 304
stainless.
I think with this car being a survivor and a driver and the climate I live
in, I should go with stainless but with almost every bushing and body plug
dried out; I'm going to order aluminized steel. I'm going to ask them if
they can weld a set of flanges on for future headers, just to make the
transition easier down the road. I'm changing from single to dual exhaust
because I plan to put a 4 barrel on the poly but I'm really itching to try
the P600. I think I'd need more cam for that P600 anyway and I just want
simple upgrades so I can keep driving. Anybody have any input on changing
from standard 1-7/8" pipe to 2" or larger? Would I be taking too much
backpressure off a 34K motor that hasn't run in 25 years? No smoke now,
haven't noticed any loss in oil in 1000 miles so far, no ticks, just a real
smooth running beautiful poly engine. 500 CFM carter a good choice for a
Weiand 8007? It just happens to be the one I have hanging around.
Comments or suggestions?
Thanks everyone, I'm going out for another nightly drive!

Standard steel 1-3 years
aluminized - 2-5 depending on how much idle time in cold weather.
SS 14 years so far and counting..

spend a little more to save a lot more..
Just my opinion... 2c.
