The main one in this case being that 200.00 is the price of a 65 T/F when you find one which admittedly could take a little searching. If the 64 T/F was 50.00 which is what you will get one for with a little patience, then it would be more tempting. Reason #2 is its neat to have the trick setup. Thats why rodders put jag independants in rather than 9 inch Fords. They both work fine but the IRS is tricker. Reason #3 is back in the day folks ran 7 inch tires as opposed to sticky drag radials. I would like to see how many max wedge and Hemis run ball and trunions today. I waited for the 65 trans to show up and I was happy. Ultimately of course, its personal choice. Thats what makes old cars fun. mike 63 330 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Merkley" <krmerkley@xxxxxxxxx> To: <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, April 03, 2004 5:25 PM Subject: RE: big block pushbutton tranny =========================================================== Bounces like rubber! It may be a few dollars more than others across the country but it is almost in your hands and you do not have to pay for shipping. As far as the 65 tail shaft, if you happen to find one somewhere then change it. As Don Dulmage has said (at least I think it was him) the Ball and Trunion joint worked fine with the 426 wedges and the Hemi's back in 64 why would it not work now? As was previously stated about the torque converter whether a 64 or 65 tranny you will still have to change the input shaft if you want to go to a more performance enhanced unit, so once again I feel that the 64 tranny you have looked at should make it's way under your car. Good luck and this is one man's opinion. Regards, K.
