Neal,  checking the ridge at the top of the cylinder will give you a quick 
idea.  Go with the minimum.  If .040 will do it..do it.  See what the maching 
shop says.  Did learn that 71 and 72 360's were cast using the 340 water jacket 
casts.  Since 360 fininshed bores are .040 smaller that the 340, they can be 
taken out .100 (with a sonic check).  Anyway, that's what the "How to build 
Chrysler performance engines" book sez....   Joe
