Anyone out there done a engine/transmission swap from a small block 318 Poly / 727 to a big block (383 or 440) w/ new model 727 in a B body car (specifically a 64 Polara 500)? I found the parts I need from Schumacher Creative Services, they seem to have a pretty good package set up (engine mounting brackets for BB, headers, gaskets, etc) that will let me drop a BB into the car with no "homebrew creativity" on my part. Has anyone used one of their kits/mounts? More importantly, what problems may (WILL) I have with dropping a BB into the car, as far as mounting stuff goes? I assume I'll need a shorter driveshaft...any other modifications that will need to be done? I'm keeping the original motor/tranny no matter what, but for the price, this BB and tranny is kinda hard to ignore. Thanks!
