On my way to Mopars at the Strip, I was cruising along about 75 mph and my alternator burned out. I stopped and it was smoking and not working. It was about 6 miles downhill to Stateline, so I took the belt off and ran the car (with no water pump) down the hill to a gas station. When I got there, water was bubbling out of the drivers side head from the cross-over hole. I got really depressed and towed it home and drained the fluids. There is no oil in the water and no water in the oil. I took off the intake and valley cover. Everything looks good. The only place there is water is in the cross-over recess on the one head. I guess I'm gonna pull the head off next. I figure it is either a blown head gasket or a cracked head. I have iron heads and steel head gaskets. Any experience/advice??...that is, other than don't drive without a water pump? Larry ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
