Does that mean you can install 383 pistons in a 426? Jeff

The 426 pistons and 383 pistons are the same. 440 is physically a bigger bore.

The understanding is the pistons are the same for the 426 as for the 440. I was told I could take the 413 bore it 60 over and install the stock bore 440 pistons. I am going to double check that. I finally understand what you are getting at. Will let you know when I comeback from the machist.

My thoughts exactly. My 413 is bored .060 over for 426 cubes. It seems to me since the 440 is a larger bore, would a 413 block be able to go that far without compromising the cylinder walls?

I thought a 413 .060 over was 426 cubes, and a 426 .060 over was 440 cubes. How can you use 440 pistons in a .060 over 413? Jeff
