       Yep,prime it. I would use a high solids primer and then block sand it
as most 'glass
usually has a slight "wave" in it, finish with a 400 grit wet or dry paper.
I doubt that you can even get Laquer ,as the last producer of  real Laquer
per say ..Dupont's "Lucite" has been gone for a long time. Acrylic Laquers
are out as well ,PPG's Duracryl for example has been off the shelves for a
considerable time. The auto refinishing  industry has moved toward the base
clear systems which are all catalyzed paint systems. The Polyurethanes
(single step) are still available (Dupont's Imron and PPG's
Delthane/Delthane Ultra) and in some areas you can still get the Catalysed
Acrylic Enamels (Dupont's Centari and PPG's
Delstar ) which are all single step.
