i don't know about all the tailhousing / mainshaft and such swapouts.Seems like a lot of work . theres an outfit here called six states that makes a unit that bolts onto the ball and trunnion plate and presto, you have a slip yoke driveshaft

You could call brewers and see if you could trade to get what you need. Just a thought. If you rebuilt manual trans before you will be ok. I believe the hardest part is the cluster has to be dropped to remove and reinstall the tail and mainshaft.

There are a number of stages of changes in the A833s, however you can generally work with what you have in that transmission. To change to a sliding yoke you need a tail housing and mainshaft for '65 or later, that will fit this transmission with the proviso that there might be a bigger bearing in the tail housing, but the ID is the same from memory so that's not an issue.

In other words, you can use this transmission if you change the mainshaft (which is the output shaft) and the tail housing. Or if you get a ball & trunnion driveshaft. Or muck around a bit more and make up a CV joint which will fit the B & T flange and adapt to a regular driveshaft.

There are minor differences in gearbox mount locations, by the way...

500 bucks was a steal. I think a brewers kit is 4k maybe more now. I peaced mine together and it was hard but I saved 1000 bucks so it cost 3k. I still needed piece parts from brewers.

OK, a steal of a deal just popped up here but I need to know how useful some of the stuff will be.
  Complete big block setup from a64 sport fury 383 car. Bellhousing, clutch fork, tranny, shifter and shift  handle and shift rods. All rebuilt by brewers 15 years ago and never used. Guy wants to dump it for 500 bucks. I know the tranny is a ball and trunion, but would shifter assembly and bellhousing work on other years mopars.??? I thought maybe I  could keep the shifter and bellhousing and unload the tranny and get all my money back.
