Re: 65 Trans Mount

Bill,

Just a thought, when I installed my Poly stroker the rubber insulators for the engine mount and transmission mount looked alright, only 68K miles. After a few weeks of driving I noticed the engine rocking more. The left insulator had developed a crack right by the stud. I had a brand new set of Borg Warner mounts so changed them over. Checking the tranny mount I found that it had separated into 2 pieces. I purchased the Schumacher tranny mount as well as their torque strap. The engine is now rock solid and as long as my tire bite the left front raises up just enough to put a smile on your face.

Your new engine is going to surprise you with it's power, go for the new rubber.

50 year old oil soaked rubber is better than new

Anybody have a part number or listing for a stock regular rubber unit? I would put the old one back in and it looks good, except its 50 years old
