At the all Mopar show last year, one of the fellow '62 owners asked if I had ever looked into the history of the pot metal dealership emblem on the tailgate of the Dart. Never really occurred to me...... The emblem reads: Marksheffel Colorado Springs Right away found a Marsheffel area in Colorado Springs. A little more digging and discovered this article. It was one of the largest garages in the world at one time. Quite the story on the man behind the name, Albert Marksheffel. http://www.newfalconherald.com/DisplayPrintArticle.php?ArticleID=6967 -----Original Message----- From: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of mcwheels@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, September 08, 2014 11:02 AM To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: arnsr@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Abrahamson Motor Sales Inc. Hammond, In. Anybody in the Chicago area? Thanks for the reply Tony. Not sure if this is correct but I found an address from a Hammond Times article showing Leo Abrahamson (who is the son of Joseph Abrahamson that started the Chrysler dealership) from Abrahamson Motor Sales standing next to a new Hudson. Not sure if they sold Hudsons too or if they had a second dealership but the address is 5915 Calumet Ave. Also the dealership may have been located across from the street from Hammond High School. Thanks again for anything you can find out Tony, Dan ---- arnsr@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > i will be in hammond on thur the 10th do you have an address tony n > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <mcwheels@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2014 2:52 PM > Subject: Abrahamson Motor Sales Inc.
