Richard, not all the USA models had electric pumps. I'm not
familiar with the various options for the different models, but some
had foot pumps and some had electric. I've put electric pumps in
all my vehicles because of the bum leg. My high optioned 64ragtop
Dart had variable speed wipers and the electric pump was switched by
pushing a button in the center of the wiper knob. Pretty fancy,
huh? I have a two-speed wiper/washer setup that I think is from a
'65 Valiant, and its pump is switched by pressing the whole knob -
not quite as fancy as the ragtop.

Richard, someone else
here will know that. I got a bad left leg in the Navy and
have driven automatic trans and had no interest in foot pump
washers.
I think those washers were optional on the low line Chrysler
cars, Darts, Valiants, maybe some B bodies. They used a
bag, rather than a bottle to store the
wiper fluid.

thats the set up. they also put them in phoenixs. so the usa
models got proper electric setups? was there a switch on the
dash?

hi, was wondering about the windscreen
washer squirt buttons. primarily the foot pump
operated button that screws to the floor. does
anyone make a repro of these? i bought a basic
washer pump kit i was planning on installing instead
of the foot pump if theyre not available. was
thinking of mounting a second dimmer switch where
the foot pump usually goes & wiring it up to a
pump connected to the washer bottle. to feed the
switch can i run a wire off the relay switch or is
there a better place to wire it up to. hope this
makes sense, richard.
the car came new with foot operated pump. was
guessing the american ones did too. this is a aussie
63 phoenix. if usa built ones didnt have foot pump
what did they have?
