Well actually 318s are A or LA, not BB or SB!  The poly engines are As and the 1964 redesigned engines are LA or Light A.  If you mean Big Block by your BB that is incorrect also, the 360 is a LA Small Block, you are thinking of the 361 B block probably. 

 

BB & SB is some sort of goofy gm incarnation.

A 318 oil pan will not work on a 360,,, 360 are consider BB and 273 and 318 are SB.
