Keep in mind that the fuel is cool coming
from the tank. The idea is to keep it cool as long as you can. Wood is not
a good conducter - thereby keeping the outside heat from heating up the fuel
line. Actually a foam sheath for the line would work best. Not
fact--just opinion.................MO

I understand what you are saying, but wood is no a good at heat transfer,
and metal is good at heat transfer. Otherwise fins of radiators would be
made of wood, not thin strips of metal. I just don't see how wood would
help it, but there are lots of things that go on in this world that I don't
have a clue how they work.
