I have a good friend that is a welder by profession, and bought a 110 unit for use in his shop at home,, figuring too that it would do any light job he would run into. He quickly found out differently and now has a 220 unit. Guess it's the old "better to have it and not need it,, than to need it and not have it"

I am considering a MIG welder.
A friend suggested that a 120 volt unit is all that I would need, it
would be able to weld up to 3/16" to 1/4" mild steel and that is all I
would ever need.
I have looked at some at a welding supply house and Eastwood has this
one on special:

Any comments on MIG welders would be appreciated.
Thanks
