Is "no kick-down" an issue only when you floor it, or, could you "baby" it and let it shift by itself to limp along?
I ask because I have a 1991 MB 300 SL that has an electric kick-down which I do not think is working. (The car is a labyrinth of electrical issues.) I have been driving it but have avoided "flooring" it.
(IMHO, the MB engineers may have been great mechanical engineers, but their electrical/electronic skills were challenged.)

I also the trannycustom built for the cable shift set up. The kick down was not hooked upbecause one has to be fabbed. I drove the car without a kick down for about 400 miles. Does anybody think doing this hurt my tranny? Thanks in advancefor the input.
