65 lid has no snorkles at all. It is a little bigger in diameter on the top and brings air in from under the lid all the way around. It was chrome also.

Hard to say how many, but I talked to a guy years ago that was a parts hound and he had everything. He showed me a few "homemade" dual snorkle lids, that started as 361's, but said he had a few factory pieces at one time. Didnt say a year which they were from. I was only conserned with finding a chrome 65 lid at the time. I ended up having Akron Don grab me a 65 lid at Mopar Carlisle years ago. Wish I would have got a little more education on the subject. The person I purchased my 63 from claims all items on it were original, But, at Monster MoPar I was told 361s never had a duel snorkel filters, that's why I got the single one. Then again I was told NO MoPars ever came with Kelsey Hays wheels on them, there also?? For example, the 1965 300 used an unsilenced air cleaner similar to the 1965 273 Formula S air cleaner. That nicksgarage page does have a photo labeled 1966: http://www.nicksgarage.com/aircleaner/66_440_tnt_01.jpg For 1967 & up see: http://moparmuscle.automotive com/118909/mopp-0212-air-cleaner-spotters-guide/index.html Thanks, Gary H. -----Original Message----- >Hi, > >This is a question about the air cleaner I want to use on my wife's 64 >Polara 500 ragtop. > >When did the twin snorkel air cleaner first get used? 68?
