RE: cooling issue

On my car there is no evidence that there was ever a seal between the
hood and the radiator support. The way the front of the hood is
designed it drops down in front of the radiator support about 3". Here
are a couple of pictures:

If you look at where the latch hook is and where it engages the latch
bar you can see how much overlap there is. I also counted and I have @
16 fins per inch on my radiator in answer to our compatriot Dennis in
Yuma. I don't have a high flow thermostat. I guess my higher flow
water pump won't help a lot with a standard t-stat. So that's a cheap
next step.
It's irritating when you start looking for fan shrouds and see that
there are late 60's B-body shrouds available for @ $85 and the ones for
our cars are $250 and there probably isn't a nickles worth of difference
in them. Makes me wonder if I could buy the cheaper one and modify it
to fit.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
