Re:

Ive never done this but it would seem that you would just change the entire underdash harness to the plymouth harness. it will plug into the firewall the same and the wiring harness in the engine compartment will plug in as usual.

The past few years Iâ??ve been gathering needed / wanted parts for my â??64 B body Dodge project. From inception, one of the things Iâ??ve been wanting to do is install the â??64 Plymouth dash cluster into my â??64 Dodge, for no other reason than â??I likeâ?? the Plymouthsâ?? four evenly sized circular gauge cluster over the Dodge cluster. Having a Ply dash cluster, I know it will fit into place but I have learned that the dash wire harnessâ??s main plug connecting to the rear of the Dodge cluster is obviously different than the Ply harness would be. The Dodge cluster has a single circular set of 8 prongs; where as, the Ply has 2 sets of 5 in-line prongs at two separate locations.
My question is, have any of you guys made this change out? As I understand, Canadian built Dodges of the time came with this dash arrangement (I think even with Plymouth upholstery?). So Iâ??m hoping that locating an un-cut â??64 Plymouth under dash harness will resolve this and that the other end of the harness plugs will match up to the other connection points. (?) Any thoughts?
