That is the preferred scenario, but there are too many variables that 
affect the angle.
It is not correct in all cases.
More angle is preferred in racing.
The reason being, that upon acceleration the pinion is driven toward the 
floor pan.
If that is the case, when sitting still, an angle of eight degrees, 
changes to three or four under launching, because the angle changes 
under those conditions.If that is the primary use of the car, then eight 
degrees is a good starting point.
Normally for a street application a three or four degrees of angle is 
ample. Under a hard start, that angle also changes..
Hopefully changing to a zero (or somewhere near zero, maybe two degrees 
or less) setting when the pinion is pushed up.
