Not on the pieces I've done. It's not going to get too hot just a little too warm to hold in your bare hands. Using the bench grinder and a medium then fine white buff wheel worked well for me. When you first strip the finish off it will look very cloudy but it buffs out great. If your using the oven cleaner, make sure to use easyoff yellow can only. Put the piece out in the sun to get hot then spray it down with the cleaner. Let it work for about 15 minutes but don't let it dry, spray on more if you need to. I used the red medium polishing compound first then the white fine compound to get a mirror finish. Mike P. After stripping it with easyoff (yellow can only) oven cleaner, I buffed the trim with a medium compound and buff wheel on the bench grinder. Then a fine buff compound and fine buff wheel. The trick is to get the piece hot with the wheel, use gloves. They came out like a mirror. But I don't remember talking about polishing it. What I'm specifically wanting to do are the two large trim panels that straddle the license plate on the back of my Sport Fury. These are cast aluminum and are bright anodized. Can I use some very fine compound on a buffing wheel? Paul L.
