Ron, You really don't say if want to race or just have a a original looking 426 street cruiser. If I had that car and I wish I did this is my suggestion. I would make it a original looking motor, as the possible selling price would be great with a correct date block. As segested, I would ask the seller if you could take the motor to a mach. shop and have it ultrasound tested and his opinion and the over bore. You just say block, so you still need crank manifold and such. I would get a 440 block and dual carb set up to look like a max wedge,for that WOW factor at the car shows, but also keep a eye out for a better 426 correct date block. then sell the 440 set up to pay for the 426 and get the correct look for the car.
