Re: dash bolts

Thanks everyone for your valuable input. In my case, my windsheild is usable but not good around the edges where it has started to de-laminate and bubble. I don't want to take it out yet, but if it breaks -whenever I do, not much of a loss. Unless I had the perfect tool to get the screws back in, I can see a real risk in scratching up nice new painted dash. For those who are not aware, put your dash in before the windshield! BTW, what are the odds of re-using the original windshield gasket and it not leaking?..................MO

You are right. It can be removed by one person in a tiny garage but is it worth the time and hassle of removing the glass hoping it doesn't crack; buying a new gasket and then re installing the glass. By the time the glass is out, the dash could have been re installed, granted it's tedious but much much safer.
Just sayin

Steve
You might want to go with the tedious route when you put
your dash back in.
Unless you have an expert take it out and re install it,
you are asking for trouble.
The chances of you cracking it are almost 100%.
You might not even get an expert to do it as they are
afraid of cracking the wind shield.
I took mine out of my 65 Coronet without cracking it but
while moving it even while wrapped in a moving blanket;
guess what happened?
