Yes, the ports are huge when compared to a 426 S.W. or a 440. If you have an
aftermarket intake or factory single four, you have 426 S.W. heads. There
are no other intakes except the factory crossram and a few Indy pieces that
fit.

From Mopar Muscle:
Max Wedge heads are easily identifiable by the lack of a heat cross-over
passage, large 1.88-inch exhaust valves, and very large ports. Casting
numbers for the Max Wedge heads end in either 286, 209, or 518
Akron Don
There are no heat riser ports on a max wedge head. The area between the two
center intake parts should have no openings.
Then there's the casting number which is located in the valve springs area.
I'm sure there's a listing of head casting numbers somewhere on the 62-65
website.

First of all Merry Christmas to all. I have a set of 426 heads on my car,
how do I tell if they are Max Wedge heads or street wedge heads? Without
taking them off.Thanks...Butch
