There are no heat riser ports on a max wedge head.  The area between the two center intake parts should have no openings.

Then there's the casting number which is located in the valve springs area. I'm sure there's a listing of head casting numbers somewhere on the 62-65 website.

First of all Merry Christmas to all. I have a set of 426 heads on my car, how do I tell if they are Max Wedge heads or street wedge heads?  Without taking them off.Thanks...Butch
