Re: "Engine Turned" pattern in side trim

I know anodizing is a harder protective coating.for aluminum. If I understand correctly, it is not neccessary if you keep the aluminum polished frquently?.....................MO ----- Original Message ----- From: "William Cole" <wedge64@xxxxxxxxxxx>

I had a local guy here do my 64 Sport Fury trim. He taped off the engine
turned area, took out any dents and polished the trim for me. Not sure
how he did it but it didn't ruin any of the engine turned. Ran me about
$350.00 to have all the trim done on my car.
I just keep polish on the trim to keep it looking nice. I have no
anodizing at all.

Does this pattern in a '64 Sport Fury's trim disappear when the old
anodizing is stripped off?
My refinisher won't touch it with a buffer because it is so fragile --
but will the stripping process ruin it anyway?
If so, did anyone find the vendor for the engine turned decal?
Thanks,Doug
