MO, Alot of the FAST guys are extrude honing their exhaust manifolds to improve flow. They're running low 11's through full exhaust - it might not be as bad as you think. Besides, you're not trying to kill a set of clocks so although it won't run as well as if you had headers, it'll still make plenty of power. Not sure what it costs or where to have it done, but it might just be the ticket. IMHO 6000 RPM is probably not going to be productive - we did a good deal of header testing and we found that the 1 5/8" Schumacher tri-Y headers made better power down low than 2" headers, but above 5800 rpm the power dropped off so fast that it would unload the suspension on the 1-2 shift (at 451ci). It will be less dramatic at less CI and lower compressions. I'm guessing manifolds will be a little worse. You might want to tune your package to make power down low where the manifolds won't restrict you so much.
