Enzo, Wow, that's weird. Was the car level when up on the stands? If I recall correctly it takes more line pressure to engage reverse than the other gears so it's possible that it appears that you have reverse with no load on the drivetrain but once on the ground there's not enough pressure to move the car. If your fluid level is correct I'd check the cable adjustment again. Is this a fresh transmission or has it been run before? Throttle pressure linkage/cable is a bugger with a Hemi Crossram. The Max Wedges used a rod not unlike the one that the Imperials used - one big long rod with no bellcrank. Not sure if that will work on the big headed motor. The Bouchillon piece is based on the Dodge Ram cable, which is a better setup than the Lokar cable, IMHO, although the Lokar may be simpler to install. Either way it's a pull type cable, so it has to loop around and come up to the transmission from the rear. We've fiddled with it for years and have never come up with a good solution. You might call A&A transmission and see if they have any ideas - they make the Hemi intake manifolds and kickdown setups for most common applications, so if anybody would know I think it would be A&A. I myself forego the pleasure of kickdown linkage and just go with the manual valve body... more time to play with the buttons :) SC -----Original Message----- From: Enzo Cremasco [mailto:csmopars@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, October 22, 2009 7:30 AM To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: 2 tranny questions Hello gentlemen I have 2 issues -First one Steve Charete was kind enough to forward tranny adjustment info. My ride- 63 dodge "440"- 528 heni -cross ram Holley 600's- PB Auto- My issue is that on stands I've adjusted the tranny so that I get reverse When I drop it on the ground the button depresses but NO reverse. Second question -Is anyone else running a crossram and what are you using for a transmission "TV" cable- I bought the Bouchillion unit but maybe there's a better set-up or mounting pattern. As always any help appreciated regards Enzo ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
