Agree 100% with the special Paul. The fun thing to me is have a vehicle at the car show that is not common... a rare one. Who wants to be a 57 Chevy? We are tired of looking at them. In my area there are only 2 mopar only shows. Moblie, AL and New Orleans. I am the only 65 Satellite at each one. That makes me feel good. Give my high seat in heaven/hell (which ever the case) to drive in with a winged warrior...even on on a trailer as alot of pieces...working project......1970 Plymouth

Sometimes I think that every one ever produced is still on the road. Interestingly in 1957 there were more Fords sold than Chevy's, but how many 57 Fords do you see? Another thing I notice is that the Mopars tend to be restored more toward stock than most of the other cars. With the Chevy's I think they're more customized because there are so many of them they have to do something special to stand out. Also, because GM has done a great job of licensing, you can find anything and everything for your Chevy. Just makes me feel all the more special for driving a Mopar, especially a 62 to 65 Mopar! I've got a friend with 30+ cars who will not attend a show that is judged, but I've helped him as a driver, take 20 to 25 of them to a show that is not. He takes them for the pure enjoyment of all the spectators, he won't let anyone tell him his cars aren't worthy of a show trophy. There's big car show here every year on Labor Day weekend. I haven't gone to it in years because the guy running it is a jerk. I've seen him handing out flyers during the summer but he only puts them in cars that he likes and wants at his show. I've heard stories from guys that judged for him that he changed the results of the judging so that the cars he wants to win get the awards. A few years ago (wait till you hear this one) the car that won best of show wasn't even there. It belonged to a friend of his that was pre-registered but he never showed up. I go to shows to have fun, gave up trophy hunting years ago. It's a great excuse to have somewhere to drive the car to and I usually only put it in the show because it's a better place to park. Ya hate to suspect they are setup but I had my 59 Dodge at a show Saturday with about 45 cars and a person with an OK 57 Chevy rolled in late, the show started at 09:00 am and he showed at about 12:00 PM apologizing to the staff and at the 2:00 PM awards he got best of show???? From popular voting WTH!! After the awards I had about 10 people I did not know, make a special trip over and say they were shocked because they voted for my car and were wondering how a mediocre late arrival won when most people voted before he arrived. The show was for a great cause, I had a good time and left with a good feeling being able to help the residents have a good day. And by the way I thought a 53 Plymouth should have won, and I won the 50/50 so my gas was defiantly paid for! (; Then Sunday at another show at a local Tech School with about 150 cars I was lucky enough to win 1st in my class from 1945 to 1966. Cool, especially with a gaggle of Chebys in attendance! The award for best of show gets announced and an all black 55 Chevy that took third in our class gets it?? Their were several cars that out shined his and mine in the over all show. Just my ramblings but it kind of makes you scratch your head and shrug your shoulders, but your right their are a lot personality's and biases involved in these shows with popular voting.
