RE: local car show

Although I've seen the bias you are talking about, both as a participant and a judge, I must say I have had very good luck in the past showing my Mopars.  Mostly showed my '63 Hardtop which was a custom (Conservative custom Hardtop by ISCA rules), my Superbird (stock) and my '63 ragtop, (mostly stock, depending on the local "rules"), which is the only one of the three I have left.  I won alot of shows, both class and best of show, in participant, judged, and especially in public votes.
One glaring exception was a participant judged show, where a fairly good sized car club showed up together.  They ofcourse won everything that year.
Haven't shown in years now.  Mostly do cruise-ins now, so maybe it has gotten worse.  Ofcourse, in those days, my Mopars generally kicked the brand X cars ass.  Alot of time and money.  The customs I see now, however, even the street driven ones are probably 5 times the expense mine were.
Cubic dollars are hard to beat.
