Re: new filter and gasket for 727 transmission

Great story...!! I guess anyone of us who has ever played with vehicles has list of bloopers we can tell! though there maybe a few we care not to discuss..Guess life is nothing but a learning experience and by the time we are really smart we are to old to use it......lol

The first time I changed the fluid and filter in an auto trans was in
1993 when I was working at Hillside Service in Harrison, NE. It was a
hobby job and I enjoyed it. I got the car on the hoist. I positioned the
big drain pan (which was way to small) and started loosening the bolts.
Nothing was leaking so I just kept going and removed all but one. Then I
loosened it and of course it was on the far side from me. It was still
stuck so I gave it a tap and of course it popped right off! Of course it
also allowed 90% of the pretty hot fluid to run right down inside the
front of my shirt! I was well lubricated. My boss and a youngman working
there got a pretty big laugh out of it. I gotta admit it was funny. I
never made that mistake again.
