This may not be your problem, but back in 1978, I bought a 67 Olds  
Cutlass.  The car was only used as a fill in until I could get a better  car.  IT 
was nice but every time I would hit a bump, it would die.  I  had to roll off 
to the side of the road and let it simmer down, then start it  again.  
After a few months of this crap, I finally got a carb rebuild kit,  tore it 
apart on the kitchen table and began to repair it.  I soon found  that it did 
not need to be rebuilt, just needed every screw tightened in  it.  The old 
girl ran perfectly after that and I sold it 3 months  later.  Could be there 
reason why I got the car for only $325, but sold it  for $700.
