I've been going through all my notes and trying different combinations to set-up mt carbs. I finally seem to have it running real well now !!!! I tried about 20 different combo's over a several year period. I kept notes as to how the bottom, idle, mid-range and top end performed. I kept tweaking it a little at a time. Often times it wouldn't make it around the block. BUT finally I seem to have it right. I'm a happy camper and I'll try to make the drags this Friday evening. I'm not gonna run my hood and see if that's an issue. The rule book says "no" but we've seen it before and I do think they'll let me run. If not I'll have a chance to take it for a cruise.
 
FYI: The temp is almost cold, the fuel line and carbs are cool and the ignition system throws a spark well past the specs for it. Persistence pays off.
