I'm sure like Dodger said that the frame is all reinforced. Don't forget
that back them before the age of vans that all your ambulances and hearses
were built by custom coach companies out of automobiles. Even some motor
homes were built that way. I knew a woman who had an old motor home that was
similar to the style you see today with a van front end but the front end on
this one was a Cadillac, about a 1955 I think. I remember that the Buffalo
airport had a fleet of these 8 door limos that were 55 or 56 Chrysler sedans
and that they gradually replaced them with 8 door Checker cabs. When Dodge
came out with it's 15 passenger Maxi vans they gradually replaced the
Checkers. Btw I just remembered there was a similar vehicle on ebay last
year but it was built for a funeral home. It was a 60 or 61 Chrysler
station wagon.

Seeing a vehicle stretched like that now is common, but with technology
the was it was back then, I'd be afraid hitting a big bump in that car
and the frame breaking in the middle!
I had a 59 dodge wagon that had been stretched and made into an ambulance,
it had a full frame under it very similar to a pick-up truck,,,,,,,,,no
way it
was ever going to sag, or break
