RE: Trans (was RE: thanks)

Hello Group:
RE: transmission only in reverse
Solution:
Just for reference. When rebuilding a push button cable operated 62-65
auto, remember to check the retaining spring that holds the cable in place.
Mine was loosy/goosy and allowed the cable to withdraw, leaving the shift in
reverse. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. The pushbuttons depress as normal. I have not
checked the fluid level. I will do that tomorrow. The cables are new from
Kramer. I will reply when I check the fluid level. Got to start somewhere.
Thanks again

Do the pushbuttons act normal in terms of how they depress and rebound?
Did you look at the shifter cable to see if it is not broken? How's the
fluid level?

Thanks,
Gary H.
