kickdown geniuses sought

any truth to the rumor i heard that if u had a two barrel mopar v8 and u
switch to a factory  4 bbl setup , that the old 2 bll kickdown wont
work???
  PS- and then what if on top of that u went with an aftermarket
  "taller" manifold, what do u do then???
