Can be used on both solid and hydraulic cam lifters, and the adjustable part makes them go either way. May also help with minor differences between manufacturer's pushrod lengths, and block decks not squared. Don D. mentioned block decks not too long ago in one of his informative emails, as not always correct from the factory. And it was also mentioned lately that some cam manufacturers want the lifter adjusted so as not to pump up at high RPMs, and stock rockers on shafts only fit one way, right, or close enough, for factory production.
