Airbrushing may not be perfect but for brittle plastic parts that can’t be vacuum plated (the original factory process) this is a good option. 

A few of the parts I sent in to have vacuum plated literally fell apart because they have to heat it up during the process.  The company I sent them to made no guarantees because every dash had different sun exposure.
