OK folks, sorry to bring this up again. A month or so ago I was talking on here about this supposed mopar rear seat that came with my 65 coronet. Since upholstery and padding was trashed I decided to just tear it all off. Hmmm, I don't know, it doesn't look right. Or maybe I should say familiar.
The width seems about right. and the the floor hooks catch a rod in the correct place on the lower portion, but the really weird part is the upright seatback.
In the lower corners of the seat back there are what look just like latches. Yep, the kind like a hinge with a slot in it that seats down over a hoop and you put a padlock thru. That type. But it's just the one half, the hinged part with the slot, like a bolt is supposed to go through the slot, Or a tab? but the hinges don't line up with any holes. Never seen that before which makes me think this seat is some brand x seat. Anybody ever seen that on a mopar? Oh and yes this all looks very factory. My first thought was " why did somebody weld a garden gate latch to the seat corners?" But it looks all very factory
