Ok I measured from the center to the center on the lug nut holes (4 1/2).I just found on a wheel site (http://www.magnumforce.com/wheel_vintiques_mopar.htm) That I should have measured from the center of one hole to the outside of the other hole.In that case I would guess the measurment is probably 4 3/4 not 4 1/2.
I was aware that the ford wheels would fit and thought the magnum 500 (roadwheels) were only made for Ford and Chrysler products thats why I was amazed that the bolt pattern is to big for my 66 Charger.

Your Charger and the Mustang should both use a 4 1/2" bolt circle. I
recently bought a new set of 15x7 Magnum 500's from a Mustang restoration
parts dealer and they fit my '65 Polara just fine with the Chrysler centers
installed.
