The big block used only the 727. The 904 uses the small block bellhousing.
Hi folk
Please excuse this obvious question but what is the easiest way to tell the difference between a 727 and 904? The service manual for 1965 B bodies shows the 727 is a slip yoke and 904 is a trunion drive shaft for this year. I have a big block (500 MPcrate motor). When I pulled the trans, it has a trunion. My guess its a 727 since it is a big block and it was swapped at some point.
Can a 904 work with a big block? I did not see any adaptor plates under there.
Where are the serial numbers that I can reference?
Thanks in advance for your help. As for the thread about 1st Mopars. This is my first, and thank to this group, I learn more and more each day. Thanks everyone.
