Thanks for your reply Wally, I cranked her up yesterday and let it idle in the driveway to see what it would do. The first few minutes it was fine but then the jets in both secondaries began dripping fuel into the carb. A pretty steady drip. I tapped on the float housing thinking it was stuck but it didn't help. Looks like I'm going to be taking it apart. I bought it brand new last summer and it hasn't seen many miles sense then, so I don't "think" it's gummed up. I'm almost ready to get it in the garage and start dismantling the car for restoration anyway, I may as well take the carb apart while I'm at it. Mike P. 1965 Belvedere II Convertible Jax. FL. Hi I'm not a big advocate of Holley carbs(synonymous for under hood fire hazard) but dirt is an enemy of any carb...or fuel gum and it appears you have one or the other affecting either the operation of the floats or the operation of the fuel inlet needle.Could be that something may have happened to affect the adjustment as well as I do believe the float adjustment on holleys are done by a screw and locknut affair on the top of the float housing. You mention that its "almost" new meaning perhaps that is was used for a short time and then shelved for a bit, this is where I get the fuel gum business from. I would remove the float bowls and clean/check and adjust. If you are running a High output fuel pump perhaps a fuel line pressure regulator could be in order.
