Re: {Chrysler 300} Rebuilt or Replacement Torque Converter 1957 C

That follows the old adage that I use in the hospital when encouraging people to increase activity

“If you don’t run, you rust” (or in this case leak!)

I concur, and I bet Don would agree, that if we all drove our cars 3 or 4 days a week (or more) like they were initially used, many of these types of maladies would never occur.  Mechanical things don't like to sit unused.  Bad things happen.
My G had the tranny leak issue for years until I finally got around to replacing that seal on the kickdown shaft.  I still leave a pan underneath, but the leak is 90% or more fixed.   Nothing seeps out until about day 5 or 6, so I just try to make sure I go to a cruise night or car show often enough  to avoid the problem.  This also takes care of carb/choke issues and probably brakes, too.

The 727 and A466 in my NY & F will barf fluid when sitting longer than a few weeks. I defer to Don Verity as to exactly why and if there is a solution.

Chevrolet's aluminum Powerglide does the same (I have one). It seems the fluid above the hub inside the converter drains back into the case, overfilling pan so that it exits through every orifice, speedo gear seal, dip stick tube seal, shifter cable seal and so forth.

I remember my Dad's garage featured kitty litter and we owned no cats. This leaking stuff may be part and parcel to keeping half century old automobiles and using them occasionally.

Subject: {Chrysler 300} Rebuilt or Replacement Torque Converter 1957 C

Anyone out there in the wonderful world of Letter Car Land have a suggestion on where/how to find a torque converter that will not bleed down fluid to the cast iron torqueflight.
On my 3rd rebuilt transmission which performs as it should, but after 2-3 days parked will puke tranny fluid under the car.
Understand this was a problem when new.
All thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated.
   Thanks
