{Chrysler 300} Additional Activities Added for Asheville Spring Meet

Hello All,

I am excited to announce that on Friday May 29th, we will have two options after our morning tour at the North Carolina Arboretum:

In the afternoon, Noel Hastalis will lead a group to the Combs Family Museum in Shelby, North Carolina. This is a free museum that is a repository for all things North Carolina and NASCAR history in Shelby, North Carolina. The museum owner, Phil Combs, is even working to arrange display of the 1955 C-300 driven by Tim Flock while our group visits. The museum does not have any cars on display, but the artifacts procured by Phil and his family. His father was the first flagman for NASCAR, his grandmother created the first checkered flags for NASCAR and his mother was the official accountant and manager under Bill France.

For those that would like some additional Biltmore history, I will be leading a tour of St. Lawrence Basilica, designed by Biltmore architect Richard Sharp Smith and Builder Raphael Guastavino. It was constructed in 1905 and features the largest free standing dome in North America:

There is no charge for the tour, but donations are appreciated by the church as they are currently undergoing an extensive renovation. There are also many great places to shop and eat close by. This is only 2-3 miles from our hotel and maybe a 15 minute drive depending on traffic.

Get your registration forms in! I hope to meet many of you and show you a great time in our beautiful city!
