I used SMS to do a complete interior, seats, door panels, carpet, and headliner for my 61 Plymouth Savoy. Though this was over 17 years ago I knew then of their propensity to over-promise. 

 

I told them the car had to appear at the Hershey AACA fall meet that year and that their delivery time was not negotiable - that everyone at Hershey who saw the car would know it was SMS's work, whether complete ... or not. 

 

It showed up when I needed it but not without cajoling phone calls. Give everyone an important deadline that puts their skin in the game and chances are better you get it when you want it.

Hi Folks

I’ve seen several anecdotal experiences related on the list server (mostly concerning very long intervals for some things) but was wondering what the group thought on getting a set of seat covers (non Goers and non Legendary, which is NA in this case) from them?

I have a ‘64 R2 Super Hawk that needs seat covers in green vinyl and my usual source, Studebakers International, just informed me that their vendor can’t provide them (after I ordered them two months ago.)

I called SMS and they said they could (at about 60% higher cost) and will send me some samples. They also said a 2-3 month interval to get them (which I’m okay with.)

I seem to recall some club members saying they’ve waited years for things from SMS so was curious what the group thought overall?
