agree with Don , plus I’ll add housing is a big issue , it gets “ divots” in it where the balls rode for 100 k miles , so how do set like .001” fit along ball travel ? impossible. If not perfect tight and centered ( not easy to do press fits etc) it then vibrates at 70 mph or so . Denny’s is way to go all new shaft balanced perfectlyThe back joint is a joke too early on , you may have to buy a new larger pinion yoke for current dana U joint .when used on early 83/4 . Denny can help , That piece is $The front piece adapts 4 bolt E brake drum to Dana joint , used in Winnebago , then Denny outs a slip spline in shaft itself like you see in big trucksThe original thing is a real DOG , vibration bs etc . Gave up 20 years ago .Go all through rebuilding it and it vibrates . It is 1930- 1940 flat six obsolete design . Periodmho

Do the aftermarket kits have a different identifying part number from the original NOS?That would help to be able to stay away from the non-original parts.

From what I have seen, the aftermarket kits do not fit. Also the balls are harder than the housing, so it usually wears first.
DonHi all,After checking the u-joints on my F, per a recommendation from Gloria, it appears the ball & trunnion u-joint is getting loose.I did a quick Google search and found a few sources for rebuild kits, but wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation on any particular source over another?I did check the club tech page and saw Bob's video on replacing the boot, as well as John's instructions on replacing the driveline with a modern slip spline driveshaft. Any insights/advice on doing this repair, or replacing with the updated driveshaft, would be much appreciated👍Thank you,RandyF in WY...where the lows r starting to hit the freezing mark!🥶
