hi, see spring added to 57 300 radio , same basic design in all radios this adds more squeeze to tubber faced clutch , avoids slipping . The clutch is there to disconnect tuner from tuning knob friction when you use push buttons . rubber gets old , slips . —on 57 I drill hole on left side make a little hook of copper wire , solder to case ,big iron — later have many holes already .a dab of adhesive keeps spring in place after hooking over near 90 degree bend . Dont overdo it ,makes push buttins too hard to push . See spring scale , about 1/8”diameter fine wire . dont be tempted to oil anything near clutch , it gets on it , it is toast . And it will . a drop of oil on each pushbutton setting slide lock can be helpful sometimes rubber breaks free of metal , hold clutch open get behind rubber disc with toothpick and weather strip adhesive fixes that , you can barely see adhesive at edge of this one fixes common pia! -- For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chrysler 300 Club International" group.
