My tranny guy removed my leaky pan and used a ball peen hammer to create downward facing bumps around each bolt hole.  This enabled each bolt to exert more vertical force against the gasket and allow for additional gasket compression.  Leaks eliminated. Similar Belleville washers are slightly dished to hold and spread bolt force.

 

Rich Barber in still hot, hot, hot Brentwood.  Electricity here is 45 cents/kWh and scheduled to go up.

Hi again. Is it possible to run a later transmission filter and pan on my 1962 transmission?  I have a serious pan leak that I haven't got to seal up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks. Bill Grieve.
