Anyone have any repair information, specifications, for the RV2 Compressors? I am rebuilding one on the bench. I removed the rear crankshaft bearing (a steel-copper bushing MOPAR 1984-152) and there is an issue. It is 10 thousand thicker than what came out. Same part number, same markings. I suspect at the factory
they had a special ream or hone that fit into the blind hole. In my case I do not. The hole also has a boss sticking up in the middle so a standard ream or hone will not work. I am going to have to hone the ID of the bushing on my lathe before it goes in. To do that I need to know what the final clearance is supposed to be between it and the crankshaft. I will also have to make an educated guess as to the bushing
crush change to ID when pressed in. It took a lot just to get the old one out. Anyone have any information? Nothing in the manuals. I suspect there is an Air Temp Service Manual out there someplace but finding it may be a chore. I asked Classic Air what their shop uses for clearance, but I suspect I will not get an answer. Thanks to anyone that has any information.
