I use to sell these wing nuts. I would get them from McMaster
Carr industrial supply and have them cad plated. Enter the bold P/N on their web
page you will see photo of #9 stamped style.
50 pack is $5.96 plus about $8 shipping. That comes out to
$.28 ea.. 3/8”-16 for battery hold down is $11.25 bag 50.

Ps. Does anyone have a short 50’s style horn, (not trumpet)
they would part with?

<chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: RE: {Chrysler 300} Wing nuts for F &
G
Not trying
to beat this to death, but I have been asked for clarification. So,
for judging purposes at meets, as long as the wing nuts are stamped, one
painted gold per air cleaner, they’re correct? Was there a
separate washer under each nut as well, or did the wing nut have a washer
like base?.
Thanks for
the link Nick. It seems to me that maybe several types were
used. The photo I attached from the Car Life 300G article (and you
included in your writeup) the nuts do not look the same on each
carb. I’d like to see a picture of the air cleaners on the
Nebraska 300G that only had a few hundred miles on it and sat in the
dealership for many years.
Perhaps
this has been covered before and I missed it, but what wing nut(s)
were used on F & G air cleaners? Studying the attached
Car Life period photo, it looks like they were stamped, not cast and
one had a flat bottom, like they may have use two different
types. Does anyone have a source for these? I’ve looked on
the club website and haven’t found anything.
